Latest News from 8 Doors Distillery - 28 Sept 2021

September News!

Since our last newsletter there’s been lots of changes on site. We are wind and watertight - and based on the downpour we had yesterday that is a very good thing!

The front of the building is looking great with all the windows in. There were a few tense moments getting the largest one in at 2.7metres wide and 2.8m high, but it all went to plan. We can’t wait to share the views from these windows with you all.

We’ve also had the underfloor heating installed before addign the top floor screed so when you come and visit us you’ll be nice and toasty in the winter months.

The joinery work is well underway and we’ve been working with Ross from Scarinish Studio to develop the plans for the interior design. The detail is all still under wraps for now, but we can’t wait to see his creative designs come to life.

There’s also been lots of deliveries - the boiler is here and a number of our stainless steel vessels have arrived… but we know there’s one particular delivery that we’re all waiting for. Here’s a sneak preview...

In other exciting news, Kerry was recently successful in winning a place on the 3rd cohort of Scotland’s flagship entrepreneurial programme called Unlocking Ambition. An 8 month programme delivered by Scottish Enterprise it focuses on business growth and leadership. It’s been an inspiring start focusing on business purpose and why we do what we do - we’ll share more on that in a future blog post!
