COCKTAIL FAQ’s
Can I use any type of whisky to make a cocktail?
We recommend using our Seven Sons Blended Scotch Whisky as the base for these cocktails. An easy drinker with a sweetness balanced with just enough spice…. it’s the perfect fit. As with all things whisky it’s down to personal taste, but we find that Blended Scotch Whisky often works better in a cocktail than a Single Malt.
Do I need fancy ingredients to make good cocktails?
No! Our recipes are based on ingredients found easily in your local shop or supermarket. Many classic cocktails are a combination of alcohol plus a sweet ingredient and a sour ingredient. So if you don’t have one of the specific ingredients in your cupboard, don’t worry! Just try using another with a similar flavour profile.
Do I need lots of equipment to make good cocktails?
No! We recommend making sure you have plenty of ice available. If you have a cocktail shaker to hand that will work well, but if you don’t you could use a jar with a lid on instead. Make sure you shake the ingredients well to get the best results. If you have a cocktail strainer you can use that - if not, use a sieve - just make sure you don’t spill any of your delicious creation.
