Seven Sons is a range of small batch and single cask bottlings carefully curated by the 8 Doors Team whilst we wait for our Single Malt to mature.
Why Seven Sons?
It’s inspired by the story of John O’Groats and Jan de Groot’s seven sons.
Jan’s seven sons had begun arguing about chieftainship and which of them should sit at the head of the table when they gathered together. To avoid a family rift, Jan built an octagonal house with eight doors - one for each of his seven sons and himself - and an eight sided table so that they were all equal.
We were inspired by this story and for us, whisky is about getting round the table with family and friends and having a great time.
We like to think that Jan and his seven sons would have enjoyed a whisky or two together and hope you enjoy your Seven Sons bottlings with family and friends!
SEVEN SONS - 33yo Single Grain - North British Bottling
Our first Single Grain Scotch Whisky release for the Seven Sons range is from North British Distillery.
Aged 33 years, 70cl, bottled at cask strength of 46.1% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Extremely limited with only 198 bottles available.
Nose - Sandalwood, crème caramel, boiled sweets, light clover honey, peaches and spearmint.
Palate - Charred orange, chewing/treacle toffee, wax, heather honey, clove and black pepper.
Finish - Long, with light flashes of sweet menthol and dry oak spice lingering.

SEVEN SONS - 28yo Single Grain - North British Bottling
One of our first Single Grain Scotch Whisky releases for the Seven Sons range is from North British Distillery.
Aged 28 years, 70cl, bottled at cask strength of 51.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Extremely limited with only 155 bottles available.
Nose - Foam banana, chalk, polished oak, Caramac and pineapple cubes.
Palate - Milk bottle sweets, rye, ginger, roast almond and spiced honey.
Finish - Medium, oily, herbal and peppered.

This Single Malt release for the Seven Sons range is from Royal Brackla Distillery.
Aged 10 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
Refill Bourbon Hogshead
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Only 344 bottles available.
Nose - Waxed lemons, honeysuckle, custard creams, white melon and hay.
Palate - Lemon curd, barley sugar, spiced orange, dry cider and green apple.
Finish - Medium length. Sweet pastry, milk chocolate and a dusting of cinnamon.

SEVEN SONS - 10yo Blended Scotch Whisky
Our Signature Blended Scotch Whisky contains 40% Malt content from first-fill, sherry seasoned, European oak casks.
Aged 10 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Appearance: Deep Gold
Nose: Caramel, hazelnut, vanilla icing and dry hay
Palate: Sultana, almonds and soft oak spice
Finish: Short to medium. Easy drinking!

SEVEN SONS - 12yo Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The latest batch of our Blended Malt is now aged 12 years. Matured in re-fill, sherry seasoned, Hogshead.
Aged 12 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Appearance: Deep Golden
Nose: Custard tart, riesling, porridge and honey
Palate: Sweet custard, banana, light citrus, hay, walnut and a bitter oak spice. Water works well here.
Finish: Medium to long, drying with the oak spice lingering and an acidic sweetness.

SEVEN SONS - 11yo Blended Scotch Whisky
A limited release, and the seventh from the Seven Sons range this 11yo Blended Scotch was curated by our distillery manager Ryan Sutherland. Ryan's first blend has been created using existing Blended Scotch and sherried Single Malt whiskies.
A mixture of first and refill sherry casks, and refill bourbon that have been married in a European Oak refill sherry butt.
Only 550 bottles available.
Aged 11 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Nose: Milk chocolate, oatmeal, jammy wagon wheel, digestive biscuits, toffee doughnut, granny smith.
Palate: Crisp yet creamy with toffee pennies, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, grist, chai, golden syrup. Just a drop of water needed, if any.
Finish: Short to medium, the toffee sweetness carries through with cinnamon and a pleasant drying nutmeg note.
SEVEN SONS - Single Malt - Miltonduff Bottling
The sixth release in the Seven Sons range is from Miltonduff Distillery.
Aged 12 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Only 762 bottles available.
Nose: Freshly oiled oak, cherry menthol lozenges, red liquorice twists, plum sauce, crunchie bar. Wee hint of clove honey.
Palate: Slight earthiness with tobacco, caraway, nutmeg, clove and mace all present. Fruit takes a back seat with flashes of blackcurrant glycerine pastilles, kola kubes and menthol lozenges.
Finish: Medium length, drying nutmeg and caraway.
SEVEN SONS - 11yo Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The fifth release in the range was this small batch Blended Malt bottling. Matured in re-fill, sherry seasoned, Hogshead.
Aged 11 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
Appearance: Deep Golden

This release was a small batch peated Single Malt. Matured in first-fill, sherry seasoned, European Oak Hogshead. From Glenturret Distillery.

Appearance: Deep Copper
Nose: Earthy, dry charcoal smoke, barbecued meat, orange oil
Palate: Spicy, dried fruits, resinous, blood orange, tobacco & honey
Finish: Long, medium dry finish

A limited edition bottling from Aultmore distillery launched in December 2022 due to it’s festive flavours. From Aultmore Distillery.

Appearance: Burnished
Nose: Chocolate praline, toffee pennies, Christmas fruit and nut mix
Palate: Drying with peanut brittle, nutmeg and vanilla ice fruitcake. Initially oily but creamy with water
Finish: Medium to long, the nutty character lingers with clove
SEVEN SONS - 8yo Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The first of our small batch releases, this Blended Malt launched in September 2022. Matured in first-fill, sherry seasoned, European Oak Hogshead.
Aged 8 years, 70cl, 46.7% vol
No chill filtration. Natural colour.
461 bottles released, individually numbered.
Appearance: Burnished
Nose: Stem ginger, orange marmalade, Madeira cake, kola cubes, dried apricot and plums
Palate: Raisin, walnut, liquorice and nutmeg. Creamy with water added and a grapefruit bitterness
Finish: Medium to long with a lingering ginger spice following through from the palate.
SEVEN SONS - 8yo Blended Scotch Whisky
Our Signature Blended Scotch Whisky was launched with the 8yo version.
Our blend contains 40% Malt content from first-fill, sherry seasoned, European oak casks.
